On May 16, 2015, in Uzhgorod, as well as thirteen other cities of Ukraine, the Day of Street Music will take place for the second time. Traditionally, on the third Saturday in May, hundreds of professional and amateur musicians come out on the streets of their cities to play and sing their music. The holiday will last from 9:00 to 23:00.
About the holiday:
The Day of Street Music is the most massive musical volunteer project in the world, founded by legendary Lithuanian musician Andrius Mamontovas 9 years ago in Vilnius. Over the 9 years, Latvia, Ireland, Great Britain, Georgia, Netherlands, Belgium and Norway have joined the Lithuanian music holiday. This year, thanks to the holiday organizers in Ukraine, the Ukrainian community in Portugal also joined the Day of Street Music.
