"56% of the population are coming to the election in the 68th constituency, 23.6% still think whether to participate. The deviation is about 2.5%," – said Oleksandr Pelin at the press conference in Uzhgorod Press Club, commenting latest surveys. – Currently three political parties are leading: UDAR (20%), Batkivshchyna (17, 2%), the Party of Regions – 12.4%.
The Communist Party has 4.5%, "Ukraina, vpered" and "Svoboda" have about the same percentage.
Among the leaders in the majoritarian "competition" Pelin identified four main leaders, but named only two. According to him, the leader in the constituency is Ratushniak, followed closely by Pavlo Chuchka.
"Trend of the season is such a factor as the ability to stand up for people. The voter is inclined to vote for chunky men who can protect them – the sociologist commented on the popularity of UDAR – trend "love your Motherland" is on the second place, trend of Party of Regions "Professionalism and stability" is on the third place. The competetion is not so much between personalities, but between metaphors."
In addition, O. Pelin warned that high ranking of UDAR does not mean that the party will receive the support on election day. About 30% of the electorate of Klitchko party are students, and they are quite unstable voters who can say that are going to the elections, but in fact ignore them. Such cases have occured in the Ukrainian election history. Instead, the Party of Regions is supported by more stable voters.
