Old cellar in the center of Uzhgorod: despite the new discovery, construction works are ongoing (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

A lot has been written in Uzhgorod’s press and social networks about the old cellar on Dovzhenko street, that was discovered during construction works. Later, the topic has disappeared from the reports.

– Understandable – it was pushed out by politics, elections, bad weather, etc. – journalist Kostyantin Cherkay says. – The last report was that construction work was suspended until the special expert commission finishes its work. And then – silence… Moreover – the construction site was enclosed behind a high solid fence.

But today, Cherkay writes, it turned out that the work continues. Cranes and dump trucks are working, concrete blocks are being installed and even a large area is filled with cement, although there has been no announcement on the completion of the commission’s work.

Journalists photographed the site saw a new discovery: another entrance to the cellar. 

P. S. The police and People’s Deputy Robert Horvat (who called them) are already on the site. They are establishing the legality of construction work, permits, etc.
