Officials of the Road Service appropriated 150,000 UAH allocated for routine repair of roads in Khust district

Transcarpathian Prosecution Office for supervision over the observance of laws in the transport sector, following the audit on the use of the subsidy for the repair of roads in the village of Kopashnovo, Kopashnovo-Khustets-Polyana, Kopashnovo-Lunka in the period of 2012, registered the criminal proceeding under Part 4 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misappropriation, embezzlement, or obtaining of property by malpractice committed on a large scale).

According to Transcarpathian Prosecutor for supervision over the observance of laws in the transport sector Yuriy Varga, during the audit, it was revealed that officials of the Road Service in Transcarpathian region, abusing their official position, appropriated 150,000 UAH allocated for routine repair of the roads in the above villages.

Currently, the officials face imprisonment for a term of five to eight years, with disqualification to hold certain posts or practice certain activities for up to three years.
