Officers from the capital will reinforce Transcarpathian border

The officers of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine departed to Transcarpathia this morning to tighten the protection of the state border with the countries of the European Union.

The decision to continue reinforcing this area was taken by the leadership of the State Border Guard Service, because the rate of illegal activities related to transportation of illegal migrant groups, excise goods across the state border, including the use of caches, small aircrafts, remains the same.

The officers of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service will be serving in nine departments in the most high-risk areas and will carry out tasks for the protection of the state border, prevent the transportation of illegal migrants, corruption and smuggling, administrative offenses on the state the border of Ukraine.

It should be noted that at the end of last year, during a similar reinforcement, officers of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service were serving in 600 border patrols. They were involved in inspections of over 400 km of the border, detention of 23 persons for illegal crossing of the state border, including 17 illegal migrants. In addition, almost 20 thousand packs of cigarettes and goods at 365 thousand hryvnias were arrested, and in 5 cases signs of preparation for committing illegal activity were revealed, the press service of the Border Guard Service informs.
