"Night at the Uzhgorod castle" showed a new and exemplary for Transcarpathia format of cultural and even social events.
Transcarpathian Regional Local Lore Museum, during the European Night of Museums, invited guests at the festival, which combined cultural and educational purpose and an art concert. The program was made up perfectly – with the participation of the best art collectives of the city – and immersed in the atmosphere of antiquity, mystery and high art.
The guests were welcomed by the hosts of the Night – Count Miklos Bercsenyi and his wife Krisztina Csaky. It was during their reign (late XVII century), when Uzhgorod Castle became a cultural center. "The Counts" were sharing the stories from the history of the castle and a romantic story of their life and marriage.
The main event of the Night was the concert of the unsurpassed Academic chamber choir "Cantus". The famous choir once again surprised and impressed with the premiere of the new program of works by contemporary European composers.
The Studio of Contemporary Dance "Blitz" surprised with dances in folk costumes and the dances that brought them victories at world competitions.
The highlights of the Night of Museums around the world are displays of rare items, that are usually inaccessible for visitors. So, the Transcarpathian Museum demonstrated an artifact, which is kept in the museum and has a unique feature – it is an impression of a fish in an igneous rock, which is… 5 million years old and which proves that there used to be a sea on the territory of Uzhgorod…
At the end of the Nights at the Uzhgorod castle, the fire theater Fire Life ensured a spectacular finale. They literally set the night on fire, however, without any threat to the castle, but to the applauds of fascinated guests.
The holiday in the Uzhgorod castle did not just accomplish the set goal: to invite people to the main museum of the region and impress them with show and atmosphere. The Night at the Uzhgorod castle set the new standard of cultural and artistic events in Transcarpathia. See how it was in the photos.
