Nezalezhnist embankment: no compromise has been reached! (PHOTOS)

Journalist Vitaliy Glagola proposed to organize a meeting of the city authorities with activists on the repair of Nezalezhnist embankment. Here’s what he wrote about the result:

"My initiative to bring the city authorities and the activists together at the negotiating table failed) nobody wanted to compromise. The municipality was ready to discuss the pavement issue, the appearance of lights, benches, and garbage bins. Here is what they are currently proposing. In addition, they promise not to remove the old Czech pavement on the embankment. Just to fix it. They guarantee that not a single lime tree will be cut. But the works must be performed this year for the money allocated by the Cabinet.

The activists demand consultations with UNESCO and to discuss the intentions with user groups, public, to choose another contractor and announce a new open bid for the project.

No one wants to compromise. I hope they will find a common ground, but without my participation) Because they already say that I was bought by the city hall) Good luck)".

Recall that on Sunday, September 2, public activists gathered at the rally, which proclaimed disagreement with the repair of Nezalezhnist embankment.
