New objects will be included in the Nature Reserve Fund of Transcarpathia

The rivers of 11 districts of Transcarpathia are part of the hydrological sanctuaries where construction works are restricted. Currently, in Transcarpathian region there are 468 territories and objects of the nature reserve fund, including 34 national and 434 local ones. On the territory of most of these objects, there are rivers and streams, including hydrological and ichthyological sanctuaries, as well as hydrological nature monuments that cover 11 of 13 districts of Transcarpathia.

– The rivers, that are part of the natural reserve fund, are Thereblya, Rika, Latorytsya, as well as others, where investors plan to build cascades of mini hydroelectric power stations, – Hennadiy Moskal said. – Even though construction work at these objects is resctricted or prohibited. The regional state administration is preparing documents for expansion of the list of the rivers to be added to the nature reserve fund. There is no room for new mini-HPPs in our region.
