New mini-sculpture in Uzhgorod: details and interesting facts (PHOTOS)

As we already informed, today, a new, very interesting mini-sculpture has appeared in Uzhgorod – a monument to the Transcarpathian kiflyk.

The journalists who attended the presentation learned some interesting details.

The sculpture was set in front of the "Dastor" supermarket for a reason. Firstly, the traditional Transcarpathian baking, including kiflyks, has long been the main feature of this famous shop.  With poppy seeds, plum, apricot, apple jam – the choice is wide.

Secondly, the "Dastor" himself turns 13 years old today. Therefore, the team decided to make this original gift to themselves and to the entire city.

Thirdly, the team not just commissioned the monument, but also suggested many new ideas and details during the manufacturing process, which were eventually embodied in bronze. Therefore, "Dastor" can be called not only the commissioner, but also the co-author of the sculpture.

The "Kiflyk" was made by young authors Stepan Rusnak and Roman Murnik. This is the second mini-sculpture made by them and, according to the artists, not the last one, there are many ideas.

But what makes the 42nd sculpture the first of its kind is the place of production. While the previous ones were cast in Budapest, this one was cast in Uzhgorod, in a small foundry.

Below are some photos from the unveiling of the sculpture.
