It hasn’t even become warmer yet, and the number of fires in ecosystems in Transcarpathia has already increased. Thus, since the beginning of the year, 177 fires in ecosystems have been registered in the region.
The real dry vegetation burning boom was observed last weekend. Thus, out of 69 fires, that occurred on the territory of the region on March 2-3, 63 occurred in ecosystems. The largest number of fires was recorded in Uzhgorod (15 cases) and Uzhgorod district (13). And Mukachevo fire fighters had to put out burning dry grass and shrubs in the region 15 times. 7 fires in ecosystems was recorded in Vynogradiv district.
At present, the wave of these fires has mostly covered low-lying districts, but as it is getting warmer they will spread to mountainous terrain. Although, on the weekend, two dry grass fires took place in Velyky Berezny districts and two – in Tyachiv district. By the way, during the fire, which occurred on March 2 in the village of Maly Berezny outside the settlement, the fire not only destroyed two hectares of dry grass, but also damaged 10 wooden phone pillars.
Transcarpathian rescuers once again ask citizens to stop burning dry vegetation and strictly adhere to the rules of fire safety. Do not be indifferent if you notice smoke or a small fire! It is easy to put out a fire at the initial stage – just pour a bucket of water or dirt on it.
