Near Solotvyno, contraband cigarettes were left 50 meters from the border

Today, at about 1 am, border guards of the "Solotvyno" department of the Mukachevo detachment prevented another attempt of cigarette smuggling.

While patroling, the border guards noticed near the border two people with packages. When trying to detain the unknown persons, the soldiers made a warning shot, but the offenders, taking advantage of the dark time of the day and a considerable distance from the border guards, ran away. During the inspection of the area, 50 meters to the border, the border guards found three packages, which contained 1,400 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps of Ukraine. 

The contraband cigarettes, which were taken to the border guard unit, will be handed over to the SFS employees, the press service of the Mukachevo border guard detachment reported.
