On October 13, 2017, an exhibition of works by the winners of the student painting contest "Silver Easel" Anastasiya Mitikova and Petro Hrytsyuk was opened in the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life.
The young artists participated in the contest "Silver Easel", which took place in Uzhgorod in April this year, and received a special prize from the curator of the art residence "Velyky Pereviz" Tamara Babak – an opportunity to live and create in the artistic institution for 10 days.
The exhibition organized by Oleksandr and Tamara Babak, together with the Brovdi Art Foundation within the framework of the Open Student Painting Contest "Silver Easel" III features about two dozen works made by the laureates during the stay in Poltava region.
The curator and co-founder of the art residence, artist Tamara Babak decided to make an exhibition of works by young artists back when they were living and working in the art residence: "I got the idea back when Nastya and Petro were painting at the "Velyky Pereviz", with the exhibition of the paintings by these young people, I wanted to inspire future participants of the "Silver Easel’. "Such competition as "Silver Easel" is a great opportunity for the development of young artists, and it is very needed today," – Mrs. Tamara added.
According to Tamara and Oleksandr Babak, this time (tomorrow during the announcement of the winners of the Open Student Painting Contest "Silver Easel"), they are also planning to select a few applicants to give them the opportunity to rest after the intense competition and to create new works.
