Yesterday, a regular stage of sword fencing World Cup finished in the German town of Heidenheim

In the team tournament, Ukraine team won the fourth place. World Champions of 2015 Bogdan Nikishin, Anatoly Herey, Dmytro Karyuchenko and Maxim Lhvorost in 1/16 finals beat Belarus (42:20), and then defeated Israel (37:30) and Hungary (45:40). In the semifinals, Ukrainians lost to Italy (28:30) and in the battle for bronze were defeated by Switzerland (29:45).

Now our fencers are confidently moving to winning the team Olympic licenses – currently, Ukrainian team ranks second in the world classification, but there is another tournament ahead – World Cup stage in Vancouver in mid-February. After this stage, those teams that have won licenses in the men’s fencing will be known.
