The National Bank of Hungary has warned that as of November 1, old 500 forints notes will be withdrawn from circulation.
According to the National Bank, only 60 percent of banknotes were replaced by the end of September. Old banknotes will not be accepted in retail chains, but can be redeemed within three years in any bank or post office, as well as within twenty years by the National Bank of Hungary.
