National Bank may withdraw 1 and 2 kopiyka coins from circulation

The National Bank of Ukraine is considering the withdrawal of small coins in denominations of 1 and 2 kopiykas from circulation.

This was announced by the director of the National Bank monetary circulation department Victor Zayvenko, the "UNIAN" writes.

"The working group is studying the issue of the possible retirement of small coins. We have made some calculations on withdrawal of such coins as 1 and 2 kopiykas. But the issue is complex and associated with the work of other ministries and departments. After making the decision, we will notify additionally," – the official said.
