National Bank has issued a commemorative coin in honor of the granting of Tomos to the OCU

The National Bank of Ukraine issued a commemorative 50 hryvnia coin dedicated to the granting of Tomos on autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the NBU. 

The commemorative 50 UAH coin is made of silver and weighs 500 g. The diameter is 85.0 mm. The run of the coin is up to 1000 copies. 

The obverse of the coin features: the small State Emblem of Ukraine (on the left), the semicircular inscriptions – Ukraine, the year of the coin issue – 2019, and the face value – fifty hryvnias; in the center there is a stylized cross-shaped composition crowned with a gilded imprint of the seal of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, around it the gilded medallions depict the cathedrals of the local Orthodox churches of the world alongside with their names. 

The reverse of the coin depicts the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew (on the left), who hands over the Tomos to the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius (on the right) and the inscriptions: the 15th church in the blessed choir of autocephalous churches (semicircular, on top) and "The Holy Church of Ukraine" / 06.01.2019 (below).   

The coin was designed by artists Volodymyr Taran, Oleksandr Kharuk, Serhiy Kharuk. Also, sculptors Volodymyr Demyanenko and Roman Tchaikovsky. 

It is noted that the retail price of the coin is UAH 12 thousand 824.
