In the village of Letsovytsya in Mukachevo district, officers of Mukachevo district police department found illegal poppy crops. The plants were sent for examination, the owner will be fined.
During the operation "Poppy", the police seized 205 poppy stalks from the infield of a 45-year-old resident of the village of Letsovytsya in Mukachevo district,.
During the conversation, the man told the police that it was not him that had sown the poppy and that he had not been cultivating it. He knew that cultivation of these plants was prohibited, but did not take any measures to eradicate them. Therefore, he will not avoid responsibility, – the investigator said
The seized stems were sent to the Research Forensic Center for examination. The man will be fined under Art.310 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses – "Planting or cultivation of opium poppy or cannabis." The investigation continues.
