St. Martin’s Day is celebrated around the world on November 11. In Transcarpathia, he is not only one of the most revered saints, but also the patron saint of the city of Mukachevo.
The solemn opening of St. Martin’s Day takes place in the city center. Children with lanterns will march the streets of Mukachevo. Also, there will be a theatrical performance telling the legend of St. Martin, including the most famous episode when Martin cut off part of his coat and gave it to a beggar to warm him up.
