The border guard detachment is headed by Colonel Yuriy Kovtun. He was introduced to the regional government and law enforcement officials by Valeriy Hresko – the Head of the Western Operational Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
"I consider my main task to be maintaining productive relations aimed at protecting the borders, I hope to have a good cooperation with the regional authorities and local government" – the newly appointed head of Mukachevo border guard detachment said.
Colonel Yuriy Kovtun told that he was born in Cherkasy region, served in the West Regional Department of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, including 4 years in Transcarpathia – in Mukachevo border guard detachment.
