You can get up to the Ukrainian-Romanian border by walking along the steep slopes of the protected massif Maramorosh in Rakhiv district. The pass to the European Union is on the steep ridge, and a little bit farther is 1937-meter beautiful mountain Pip Ivan Maramoroskyi.
The road to the top sparkles with silver and gold – these are shale. We should pay attention: sometimes in the faults of rock one may be exposed to crystals – Maramorosh diamonds. We have seen all the four year’s seasons while going – it was raining, the snow was crunching under our feet, the sun was generously shinning. The wind was such a strong on a rise to the top that it seemed if it blows once again it will bear us down to the village.
The forest carpet was spread on the foot of the mountain, the waterfalls’ cascades hurry off after paths, the giant burdock are hidden among the stone blocks, and beginning from the Lysycha meadow purple saffron are peep out from the icy blanket. Spiders do not want to let us go, they are clutching at clothes, shoulder pads, arms and legs, and butterflies are kissing all the time: flies up, from time to time, the yellow one and gently hits against the cheek, shakes its wings and flies further to welcome the other travelers.
The mountain ranges are twisting around the top the steep cliffs are rising and falling down into the abysses, snow ‘balconies’ are overhanging on the steep. From here you can see Chornohirskyi massif, Sydovets and as my friend remarked, ‘Erotica of mountain lines’ – Romanian friends Ferkei and Mykhailek. They resonate with our mountain Pip Ivan and ask us to visit them – we will, one day.
