“Motor Sich” refused to operate flights between Uzhgorod and Kyiv because of unprofitability

The "Motor Sich" airline refused to operate flights between Uzhgorod and Kyiv due to a low number of passengers, resulting in the loss of money. The company’s aircraft is used on more lucrative routes: Kyiv – Odesa and Kyiv – Lviv, so the flights between Uzhgorod and Kyiv are temporarily terminated. The main reason for this is the economic situation through which a limited number of people can afford the cost of a ticket.

The regional administration is committed to a speedy resumption of air travel to and from the capital. They are conducting negotiations with several Ukrainian, as well as Slovak and Czech carriers. One of them – the "International Joint-Stock Aviation Company "Urga" Private Joint Stock Company – has expressed its readiness to launch regular flights Kyiv (Zhuliany) – Uzhgorod – Kyiv three times a week. The talks on resumption of air service with other airlines continue.

Recall that a few days ago flights at the Uzhgorod airport were terminated.
