Most Ukrainians will spend New Year’s Eve at home

85% of Ukrainians are going to celebrate New Year, and 70% plan to spend holiday at home with the family

This is according to a survey conducted by Research & Branding Group.

According to a survey, 11% of respondents plan to meet New Year with friends, and 2% of respondents intend to celebrate the New Year at home first, and then continue the celebration in entertainment establishments (restaurants, clubs, cafes).

25% of the residents of Ukraine plan to spend for the New Year’s table up to 500 UAH, one in five (21%) – up to 250 UAH, 13% of Ukrainians are willing to spend for the New Year’s table up to 750 UAH, and one in ten (9% ) – up to 1000 UAH.

25% of Ukrainians are going to spend on gifts up to 250 UAH, 21% – up to 500 UAH, and almost one in ten (8%) – up to 750 UAH.

The survey was conducted during the period from the 1st to the 12th of December, 2012. The data were collected by personal interviews in 24 regions of Ukraine, Crimea, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol. Respondents were selected by quota sample representing the adult population by place of residence (region), gender and age. The sample size was 2176 people. The expected average sampling error is + -2.2%.

According to business information 123, 49% of Ukrainians stay home for the Christmas holidays. 23% are going to go abroad, 28% – to travel within Ukraine.
