Most fires in forests occur on Saturday, Sunday and Monday

The main cause of fire in ecosystems is human negligence and failure to comply with basic fire safety rules. Making a fire during a vacation in the forest or burning last year’s dry vegetation in their gardens, people do not think that their behavior can cause a large-scale fire.

When dry grass is burning, flames can spread to houses and other buildings, thus causing considerable material damage. Also, such fires cause irreparable damage to the environment, destroying fertile soil. People also suffer in such situations as they are forced to inhale toxic smoke containing lead, mercury and other heavy metals.

The forest, where with the onset of spring Transcarpathians come for picnics, can also be the hearth of potential fire. According to statistics, most fires in the forests occur on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (40% of fires). Fire can destroy huge areas of forest, steppe vegetation, the habitat of birds and animals. Natural fires cause climate change, make river beds dry out, disturb the ecological balance.

In view of the above, Transcarpathian rescuers urge people to observe fire safety rules and to prevent fires in ecosystems. In the forests and parks, make fire only in designated areas, never leave it unattended and always put it out before returning home. If you kindle a fire in your own yard, do it during a calm weather without wind, at a distance of at least 15 meters from buildings.
