The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration commented on the situation in Transcarpathian region. According to Hennadiy Moskal, on the border there are almost 200 cars of wood, which they are trying to carry to the EU under the guise of firewood. In addition, the official informed about many calls from concerned influential people interested in its export.
The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal promises to immediately make public the order of the central government on the export of the wood abroad, if such an order is given. This was reported by the press service of the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
"I have received calls from various influential people with informal requests to cancel the order on limiting exports of wood. I declare that I am not going to do that. Export of the wood abroad through Transcarpathia will be possible only after the written instructions of the central authorities. If I receive such instruction, I will immediately make it public. Then everybody will see who contributes to the merciless deforestration of the Carpathians, export of the wood abroad under the guise of firewood and financing of the aggressor country’s business" – he said.
According to Moskal, many of the cars with wood, which is to be moved abroad, belong to Russian companies.
Note that the situation with cars of wood at the border railway stations "Chop" and "Batyovo" in Transcarpathian region remains unchanged. 173 cars (mainly with firewood), which is transported from other regions to the EU through Transcarpathia, will not be cleared by the customs by the order of the head of the RSA Hennadiy Moskal.
