Officers of Transcarpathian regional office of the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the management of the Transcarpathian customs office, arrested red-handed the senior inspector of the customs post "Solotvyno" on the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
For 300 dollars bribe, the customs officers let across the border without customs clearence a large batch of jewelry for sale in the domestic market of Ukraine. A criminal proceeding over this fact was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Accepting the offer, promise or obtaining of undue advantage by an official), which provides for imprisonment of five to ten years with confiscation of property and disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
Today (9.06), the head of the RSA Hennadiy Moskal ordered the head of the Transcarpathian customs office Volodymyr Kolesnikov to remove from office the entire shift of the detainee with subsequent dismissal after the investigation and adjudication.
