Hennadiy Moskal abolished the order of the head of the Khust district state administration "On the development of a detailed plan of the territory for the construction of a cascade of small hydroelectric power plants outside the villages of Khust district". This document gave permission to conduct public hearings and development of a detailed plan of the land plot on the Rika river for the construction of mini-HPP.
– We already have a negative experience with a mini hydroelectric power plant in Khust district – in the village of Nyzhniy Bystry on the same Rika river, – the head of the RSA said. – It did not bring any benefits to the village, the district, or the region. And last winter, during the ice drift, the dam, which completely blocked the channel of the river, almost caused an ecological disaster. Neither Khust district, nor Transcarpathia needs "investments" that generate income for several people, but harm the environment.
Recall that recently, in the comments to the Ukrinform, the director of the Department of Communications of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yaroslav Halas confirmed that the regional administration would intervene if the construction on the rivers may affect coastal and flood protection.
