Moskal believes that due to the decentralization reform, Transcarpathian region will disappear

The former head of the Transcarpathian regional state administration Hennadiy Moskal stated that on one of TV channels

He reminded that while working as the governor of Luhansk and Transcarpathian regions for the last few years, he was against the decentralization reform.

"This decentralization reform will lead to the destruction of the region – there will be not such region anymore, – he said. – Now out of thirteen districts of Transcarpathia, only five will remain, and it was even planned to leave just three. And those communities that fought so hard (for the recognition of their status) will now merge with these new district councils."

PS: By the way, in the draft amendments to the Constitution prepared by the Office of the President, in contrast to the current Constitution, there is no list of all regions of Ukraine (including Transcarpathian). Thus, the change of territorial organization, which involves changes in the boundaries and names of administrative-territorial units, will be possible by a simple decision of the Cabinet of Ministers
