Moscal “closed” Transcarpathia

All passes that lead to Transcarpathia, now can be passed only through checkpoints, where, in addition to security forces, the movement of transport will be monitored by customs officers and border guards. The order on control strengthening was signed by the new head of Transcarpathian region Hennadiy Moskal.

The road patrol post in Nyzhni Vorota on the highway Kyiv-Chop, 60 km from Mukachevo, can not be passed easily. One lane is blocked with an APC, on the other one vehicles are carefully checked not only by law enforcement officers but also by border guards and customs officers.

The contents of sealed trucks will not be checked. This is not allowed by law. They check only documents. That is why, specialists versed in forgery are on duty there. The attitude of drivers to this innovation varies.
It is not known how long these posts will remain on the passes . Their initiator Hennadiy Moskal said that the passes would remain under guard as long as he heads the region.
Roadblocks are also reinforced with the National Guard. These soldiers from the Yavoriv range have been on duty in Nyzhni Vorota for almost a week.

During the first day of joint service, no offenders or smugglers were found. There are no long queues yet, but traffic is somewhat slowed down. It is mainly cargo trucks that are meticulously checked. Only passenger cars and armored vehicles pass without delay.
