More than one third of cancer cases can be prevented, another third can be cured – oncologists

Tomorrow, the leading doctors of the Transcarpathian Regional Clinical Oncology Center will hold a briefing on the occasion of the World Cancer Day.

In Transcarpathia, 3,227 cases of malignant neoplasms were registered last year. Almost every fourth case is the neglected IV stage of the disease. In general, 22,368 patients are registered at the regional oncology center.

9.6 million people die every year from cancer.  By 2030, experts predict an increase in cancer deaths to 13 million people.

On February 4, 2019, on the World Cancer Day, the three-year-old campaign "I Am And I Will" will start. It is a call to the immediate action of the society in the fight against cancer, in order to influence the future.  After all, more than a third of cancer cases can be prevented. Another third can be cured if the disease is detected in the early stages.
