More than 309,000 UAH – the cost of cars and cigarettes seized by Transcarpathian customs officers (PHOTOS)

Yesterday, on April 6, Transcarpathian customs officers seized from a citizen Ukraine and Hungary: a "MERCEDES-BENZ", a "VOLKSWAGEN SHARAN" and 2145 packs of cigarettes.

The citizens were trying to take cigarettes to the European Union through checkpoints "Tisa" and "Kosyno." The cars were specially equipped with caches hindering the detection of the hidden tobacco products. 

The citizens committed actions with signs of violation of customs regulations stipulated by Part 1 of Art. 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Reports on violation of customs rules were drawn up over this incidents. The goods and the vehicles were seized. The cost of the car "MERCEDES-BENZ’ with Ukrainian registration is almost 253,000 UAH, that of the "VOLKSWAGEN SHARAN" with Hungarian registration is about 30,000 UAH, the cost of the cigarettes is more than 26,000 UAH.

Customs officers will forward the case to court, which will determine the sentence.
