This year, children asked mostly peace
A few minutes ago, letters from St. Nicholas mail were officially sent to Lapland from Uzhgorod post office. Recall that during a month or two children were writing letters and sending them to a mailbox in Uzhgorod. The initiator and coordinator of the traditional campaign Fedir Shandor told us that this year they had received more than 2000 letters. Interestingly, almost 70% of them are from outside the region, namely: cities of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Hungary.
In turn, this year’s letter sender, tourist expert Oleksandr Koval adds that there are many collective letters from boarding schools, orphanages. They do not read the letters, but some of them are not "sealed", and the most frequent children’s requests in them are for peace. As for gifts, children mostly ask candy.
