More than 1,000 people will receive government assistance due to the coronavirus pandemic

The Department of Labor and Social Welfare of the Uzhgorod City Council has announced the start of payment of one-time financial assistance to certain categories of the population in connection with the negative effects of the spread of COVID-19 acute respiratory illness in the territory of Ukraine in the amount of UAH 1,000 (according to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dd. April 25, 2020 No. 251 "Some Issues of Increasing Pension Benefits and Providing Social Support to Certain Categories of the Population in 2020").
Payment of one-time financial assistance will be made based of the case files of the beneficiaries of the respective type of social assistance without the need of personal application. UAH 1,140,000 was transferred for the payment of such assistance through authorized banks or through the “Ukrposhta” JSC. 1,140 people will receive this assistance.

Thus, the following categories of the population will receive the payments:
– recipients of government social assistance for persons with disabilities since childhood and children with disabilities;
– recipients of government social assistance for persons who are not entitled to pensions and for persons with disabilities;
– recipients of temporary government social assistance to a non-working person who has reached the general retirement age but has not acquired the right to a pension payment.
