“Monologues…” – good bye! The theater festival in Uzhgorod finished with the last two mono-performances (PHOTOS)

The fourth and final day of the International Mono-performance Festival "Monologues over the Uzh" in Uzhgorod also featured two productions from talented Ukrainian actors. The location of this day was the Puppet Theater "Bavka".

First, the creative studio "Theater in the basket" presented a mono-performance written by Polish author Tadeusz Ruzevic and translated by Yaryna Senchishin "The old lady is hatching". Honored Artist of Ukraine Lidia Danylchuk starred in it. The director is Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, winner of the Les Kurbas Theater Prize Iryna Volitska.

The play is about a quirky Old Lady who is stuck at the crossroads of the world and the crossroads of history, between madness and sanity, poetry and prose. Although the text was written by the Polish author in the 1960’s, it was adapted to the modern day realities for the production.

And in the evening, the National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater named after Maria Zankovetska presented the visitors of the "Monologues over the Uzh" the play by Theodosia Zarivna "The Thirteenth Woman". The production told about the fate of the famous Hollywood actress of German origin. And although the heroine is never called by the name in the play, however, many songs by Marlene Dietrich are played. People’s Artist of Ukraine Natalia Lan starred in the play. Since the heroine quotes excerpts from the novel by Ernest Hemingway, the viewer understands that this is a story about the love of these famous people.

After the performance, the actress received the statuettes-symbols of the festival, laureate diplomas, as well as T-shirts with the coat of arms of Uzhgorod.
