Miroslav Petiy will become the director of “Bavka”?

The situation about the Transcarpathian Puppet Theater "Bavka", which last year was awarded the title of "Academic", recently caused a great resonance. For several months the theater and dressing rooms were closed due to the need of repairs. But it was constantly delayed, and the public became suspicious of some dubious intentions. Finally, the director Vasyl Chaykovych filed for resignation, and for the last two months his deputy Lyubov Kazhotsyna was appointed as acting director of the theater.

Now the name of the new director of "Bavka" has become known. It will be Miroslav Petiy, who has worked as the head of the department of folk and amateur art of the regional organizational and methodical center of culture in Transcarpathia.  The new director this year will celebrate forty years. He studied at the Kyiv Institute of Culture, education – director of theater group. For 12 years he worked in the Transcarpathian Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater as an actor. He also directed several productions. In the last 4 years he has gained experience of administrative work.

As it is known to uzhgorod.in, Miroslav Petiy is the brother of the head of one of leading creative teams of the region – Natalia Petiy-Potapchuk, who manages the Transcarpathian Folk Choir. Miroslav Petiy is often engaged by the regional culture administration as the host of official celebrations and festivals.
