Uzhgorod garrison military prosecutor’s office revealed the unauthorized occupation of land of one of the military bases belonging to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and construction of structures on the said land, as a result of which the state suffered losses totaling more than 1 million hryvnia.
On September28 , 2015, Uzhgorod garrison military prosecutor’s office registered the offense in the Unified register of pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Art. 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is to be conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region.
Note: In accordance with Part 3 of Art. 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, unauthorized construction of buildings or structures on illegally occupied land is punishable by a fine of three hundred to five hundred untaxed minimum incomes, or arrest for up to six months or imprisonment for up to three years.
