Military Prosecutor’s Office notified a border guard of the Chop border guard detachment of being suspected in obtaining undue advantage

Uzhgorod Garrison Military Prosecutor’s Office in Western Ukraine revealed numerous cases of obtaining undue advantage by officers of the Chop border guard detachment of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for the illegal transportation of tobacco products across the state border of Ukraine.

In this regard, on 11/25/2015, one of the soldiers was notified of being suspected of a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely receiving a cash consideration in amount of UAH 3.6 thousand.

Uzhgorod garrison military prosecutor’s office is establishing other facts of receipt of illegal benefits by officers of the Chop border guard detachment.

Reference: Part 1 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of a fine in amount of 1000 to 1500 tax-free minimum incomes, or arrest for a term of 3 to 6 months, or imprisonment for a term of 2 to 4 years, with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.
