Today, 13 October, in Uzhgorod castle a bronze bust of Miklos Bercheni by Hungarian sculptor Lajos Dorfi was unveiled. The installation of the monument of one of the ancient lords of Uzhgorod Castle was initiated by Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod and Foundation of I.Secheni. The gala event was also attended by Zsolt Neymet – State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, and other distinguished guests.
The author of the bust, Lajos Dorfi, at the opening said that he had long sought the place in the castle where the monument of count Bercheni would fit in. Finally he found it in one of the niches in the courtyard, where, probably, during Miklos Bercheni’s stay in the castle sculptures were placed. The hungarian artist expressed the hope that sometime in the niche next to Bercheni, there will bust of his wife –
