Midyanka’s poems will be translated to Hungarian

Well-known Transcarpathian poet, Shevchenko Prize winner Petro Midyanka, who lives in Shyroky Luh in Tyachiv district, has returned from Budapest, Hungary. There, for the first time, the poet had a recital, which was organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary.

The recital was opened by the Authorized Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary Mykhailo Junger, who told about the Transcarpathian guest’s poetry. The meeting was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions, Budapest Eötvös Loránd University and representatives of the Ukrainian community living in the Hungarian capital, for whom the event was organized.In addition to reading of poems by the author, there was a performance of a music duo.

As Petro Midyanka told our publication, he was very pleased with the two-day stay in Hungary.Such trips give inspiration and energy, he said. At the same time, he announced a good news – his works will soon be translated to Hungarian. This proposition was voiced at the meeting by representatives of the Ukrainian community.   Recall that works of the Transcarpathian poet have already been translated to Polish, Slovak, Czech and English.

By the way, over the last year, Petro Midyanka has been actively touring Europe with recitals. Before the trip to Budapest, he had visited Presov, Slovakia, Brno and Zlín, Czech Republic, and Wroclaw in Poland. Every time, he was invited.
