During a joint international operation on the Ukrainian-Slovak border, they found a channel for trafficking of illegal migrants and a helicopter, which violators probably used to transport illegal immigrants, the dpsu.gov.ua reports.
Last night, Chop border guards in collaboration with the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, near the village of Poroshkove in Perechyn district, Transcarpathian region, found a sport helicopter and three people – two pilots and a local resident. During the detention, border guards had to make warning shots in the air because the violators were resisting.
It should be noted that one of the helicopter pilots was detained by officers of the State Border Guard Service for the third time. Most recently, he was arrested as the pilot of a plane transporting large consignment of contraband cigarettes.
Currently, joint measures to counteract the use of small aircrafts for illegal purposes at the western border continue.
