Today, on the International Children’s Day, the courtyard of the Uzhgorod Castle was filled with children from different parts of Transcarpathia – almost 80 children from foster families and family-type orphanages, as well as their parents-caretakers.
The Department of Culture and the Children’s Service of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, in cooperation with the regional branch of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine held master class "Traditional Transcarpathian toys" for the fifth time.
The creative activity was diversified with an entertainment program from the artists from the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Puppet Theater, interesting games and contests.
The Head of the Department for Children Affairs of the Regional State Administration Svitlana Yakimelina, the Deputy Director of the Transcarpathian Regional Local Lore Museum Mykhailo Delegan and the head of the regional branch of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine Lyudmila Hubal congratulated the children. In their speeches, they emphasized the uniqueness of childhood and the important mission of all adults: to protect the magic children’s world.
The children, in turn, told about their most cherished dreams: to fly into space, to visit a big football match, to have many friends, health and happiness in the family. But there is a wish that is common for all without exception – peace in Ukraine. And with these thoughts, the children, according to the good tradition, flew blue and yellow balloons into the cloudless sky.
At the end of the event, the participants received presents from the organizers, after which there was a festive dinner for all.
