Despite the rainy weather, the opening of the memorial and the renewed park on O. Dukhnovych Street were attended by many soldiers who defended the country’s borders at different times and ordinary citizens.
The memorial was opened to all soldiers-defenders who once had to defend the borders of Ukraine. The opening date was chosen for a reason. October 14 is the Day of the Defender of Ukraine.
The new memorial was solemnly presented to the public by the mayor and representatives of various military units. A minute of silence was also observed in memory of all those who have died defending Ukraine. And at the foot of the memorial they lit candles and laid flowers.
