Last year, 631,378 people suffering from cardiovascular diseases were registered in Transcarpathia. Hypertension was diagnosed in 307,002 people, coronary heart disease – in 246,334, acute myocardial infarction – in 1,077 people.
In general, according to the chief doctor of the Transcarpathian Regional Clinical Cardiology Center, the regional cardiologist Roman Soskyda, during a year, 55-60 thousand Transcarpathians are treated in the Regional Cardiology Center. 5,800-6,000 of them stay in hospital.
The most upsetting figures: in 2015, in Transcarpathian region, 8,831 died people of cardiovascular diseases. Of those, 803 were of working age. 3427 patients died of coronary heart disease (333 of working age), 236 patients died of a heart attack (94 of working age).
The rate of hospital mortality from acute myocardial infarction was 15.3%.
The factors, that affect the resistance to cardiovascular disease, according to the head of the health care organization office of the Health Care Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Olga Chemet, include: 50% – life style, 25% – genetics, 20-25% – social factors (the conditions in which people live), 5-10% – impact of the healthcare industry on human health.
