Lunchenko on the withdrawal from “Batkivshchyna”: “Unfortunately, our views differed”

The "governor" of Transcarpathian region commented on the information published by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov in his blog about the withdrawal of Valeriy Lunchenko, among other MPs, from the "Batkivshchyna".

"On August 25, there was the meeting of the Political Council of the "Batkivshchyna" where we proposed Yulia Tymoshenko’s team to go for elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as one powerful front, to unite all democratic forces for the common victory gained by the people on the Maidan. We must not betray the Maidan, we must ensure the democratic parliament, the European development together.

Unfortunately, our views in this regard differed.

So me and my colleagues decided to withdraw from the "Batkivshchyna" for further work on the unification process of all democratic forces that are designed to develop the state. What the format that will be – either a separate political campaign, or joining an already existing political project – this issue is currently being discussed, and a final decision will be taken in the coming days", – the "governor" and an MP Valeriy Lunchenko said.
