Prokhasko Yuriy (1970, Ivano-Frankivsk) is a Ukrainian literary critic, essayist, publicist, translator. Brother of the writer Taras Prokhasko.
Junior research associate of the literary process department in Western Ukraine and comparative studies at the Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Laureate of the Friedrich Gundolf Award and the Austrian State Literary Translation Award "Translatio" (2008). Corresponding Member of the Saxon Academy of Arts (Dresden). Co-founder and teacher of the Lviv Psychoanalytic Institute (2010).
He studied German at the University of Lviv (1987-1992) and group psychoanalysis in Altaussee (Austria, 1997-2007). Translator from German and Polish. He has been published in periodicals "Krytyka", "Ї", "Tygodnik Powszechny", "Die Zeit", "Kafka", "La Repubblica", "Falter".
