November 12, a solo exhibition of works by Transcarpathian artist Serhiy Hlushchuk opened in the Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life. It features more than fifty works created by the prolific author during the year. Those are animalistic genre works, landscapes and still lifes, portraits, and plot-themed paintings in a recognizable author’s style.
Serhiy Hlushchuk’s art is one where academic skills intertwine with extraordinary outlook. The artist portrays on the canvas only what he himself believes in: it is inextricable and incomprehensible, almost pagan relationship with nature and the cosmos, and also the presence of mythological and historical images of Ukrainians in our present.
Colleagues and friends of the artist favorably talked not only about his art, but also about restoring, research and public activities of Serhiy Hlushchuk. In particular, during the opening of the exposition, representatives of the Transcarpathian regional public organization "Cossack regional defense" awarded the artist with the "Honor Star" – for contribution to the development of fine art, high skills, spirituality and patriotism.
The exhibition will run until 26 of November.
