Today, in Uzhgorod, on the occasion of Christmas by the Western rite, which is celebrated by many Transcarpathians, there was a performance that created a festive mood. Which, given the not quite Christmas weather, is very needed in Uzhgorod.
Several teams were performing, including the favourite ensemble "Uzhgorod" and singer Miroslava Kopynets – the soloist of the Transcarpathian Folk Choir.
They were singing Christmas songs and, most interestingly, carols in languages of peoples and ethnic groups that live in Transcarpathia. So the holiday songs were sung not only in Ukrainian, but, in particular, in Hungarian, Slovak, German languages and Rusyn dialect.
Thus, they wished all Transcarpathians, and Ukraine in general, wealth, happiness and peace.
