An unusual exhibition of paintings by Lviv artist Mykola Strus titled "Light in You" opened in the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life.
The guest was introduced by the director of the museum Vasyl Kotsan. Most of the works that were presented in Uzhgorod are portraits of "iconic" people of Ukraine and the world: Skryabin (Andriy Kuzmenko), Vasyl Stus, Serhiy Nigoyan, Salvador Dali, Taras Shevchenko, Bogdan Stupka, Vasyl Slipak, Lina Kostenko, John-Paul II, John Lennon et al. Those are people whose lives encourage us to think about values, the canvases motivate the attentive audience to find light in themselves and carry it around the world.
Mykola Strus has been designing for over 30 years, he works with leather in Germany. He says that today he lives between two worlds – Berlin and Lviv.
To date, the artist has created 102 works on leather. The first potrait on leather was Kuzma from the band "Skryabin". He made it 2 years after the accident which claimed the life of the singer. Therefore, it is very special for the author and not for sale.
The exhibition will run until June 19.
