Last year, vets inoculated against rabies 95,357 dogs

Last year, 100 foxes, 19 dogs, 15 cats, a great number of cattle and so on was tested for rabies. 95,357 dogs, 467 heads of cattle and 2,488 cats were vaccinated against rabies. These data were announced by the deputy head of veterinary medicine department in the Transcarpathian region Zinoviy Romanovich at the final meeting in Mukachevo.

In total, veterinary specialists performed 500,000 diagnostic studies, more than 4 million vaccinations and disinfected 721 objects.
As part of the agreement between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, animals in Velyky Berezny, Volovets, Perechyn and Svalyava districts have been immunized. 65,000 baits with vaccine have been distributed in the area of 2,600 hectares.
According to the head of the Transcarpathian branch of the "Agency for the identification and registration of animals" Yuri Bubryak, a significant scope of work for registration and identification of cattle was performed in the region. In total, last year almost 34,000 heads of cattle were registered.
