Last night, border guards prevented two attempts to cigarette smuggling (PHOTOS)

A cache, which cost the owner about 42 thousand hryvnias, was found yesterday by border guards at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod". Our compatriot tried to carry to Hungary 387 packs of cigarettes of different brands in a special cache in the fuel tank of a car Volkswagen. However, he did not succeed in this unlawful endeavour: during the customs control, the cache with the cigarettes was found, and the car was seized along with the cigarettes.

The same night, at the crossing point "Tisa", border guards detained another batch of cigarettes that a man tried to illegally transport to Europe in a car Citroen. In the course of the joint inspection, border guards found 2590 packs of cigarettes, which a 32-year-old Hungarian was trying to hide in a double bottom, front fenders and dashboard of the vehicle. According to the current legislation, the cigarettes and the car made in 1997 were seized. In this case, the total value of the confiscated items is over 103 thousand hryvnias.
