Lake of Synevyr, which is located in the eponymous National Park in Mizhgiria district of Transcarpathia is significantly run aground.

Because of the heat and drought, the water level fell down by almost 2.5 m.

Lake Synevyr is considered to the largest lake in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Its area is nearly 5 hectares and the depth reaches 22 meters. It is situated at a height of 989 meters above sea level.

Local residents are not surprised that it became less water in the lake. They say the level depends on the rain.

‘Everything is fine with the lake. Its area and depth are constantly changing depending on rainfall. Lake is fed by three mountain streams. There were times when in the spring and during the rains water approached to the middle of the wooden sculptures on the second bank and flooded the observation deck on this side’, – explains the seller of the gift shop on the lake.

The passage to the lake costs 10 hryvnas per person. Elevation, length of more than kilometer, steep and takes at least half an hour. It runs along the mountain streams on asphalted road. It is allowed to get to Synevyr by car. The travel costs 25 hryvnia.
